And you seem to be REALLY new at this so I will throw you some more hints and tips.
I am not sure who advised you to get a Hercules product.. their controllers are complete garbage.. I mean there is 'Entry Level' and there is 'Toy'... This particular type of controller is what I would consider riding the borderline between Toy and Baby Entry Level..
As a user of both Conventional DJ Equipment (Turntables and CDJs) and Controllers (VCI, DDJSX, NS7 etc) I can speak for both sides of the realm..
For controllers, your looking at around $300.00 to $500.00 for 'Entry Level Controllers' Those are most of the controllers you see at the DJ INTRO level.
For Premium level controllers that come natively supported for Serato DJ (Itch is no more) your looking at spending $500 to $1,500 (NS7II)
For 'Professional Grade' equipment such as Pioneer CDJs, Good Quality Turntables like the Technics and Stanton 150 or the new Reloops.. You are looking at a set up that will run you from $1,200 to $6,000 and sometimes more depending on how deep your pockets are. If you got money for 2 CDJ 2000s NXS and a Pioneer SRT you are digging deep.
I hope no one from Guitar center provided you advice on an 'entry' level product that is nearly just a toy..
